Tencent has fully released its Hy4 model, adding computer vision and interface control, and it beat other open-weight models in a financial benchmark.

Tencent, the Chinese tech giant, has released the full version of its Hy4 model. It adds computer vision for reading complex images and charts. It also adds computer use, meaning it can control a computer through command-line tools and directly inside interfaces like Blender (a 3D graphics program), CAD (engineering design software), and game engines. In a closed test with 213 finance professionals, Hy4 scored 3.04 points. That beat every other open-weight model (models whose files can be downloaded), including Kimi K3.1 Pro and GLM-5.3. In Tencent's own search benchmarks, the error rate on answers dropped from 15.76% to 5.45% compared to the preview version. The model weights are not public yet. Tencent says it will release them later along with a safety report.

Tencent's own report admits something important. The gap with closed, proprietary models remains right where an AI agent needs to hold a long task in its head: complex math and long coding sessions. That is the real weak spot for Chinese models in agentic work. Benchmark scores are climbing fast. Sustained, independent projects are not keeping pace. Until the weights and the full safety report are public and have passed outside review, it would be premature to call Hy4 ready for real agentic work.
