Free Code: My Route to Send Claude Code Through 300+ AI Services
A local gateway for routing Claude Code & other code agents to 300+ AI providers. Set it up once and easily swap between providers.
My Free Code is a local gateway for routing Claude Code & other code agents to AI providers. Your code agents communicate with the gateway using the usual Anthropic/OpenAI protocols, which then routes them to the corresponding AI providers such as Anthropic, DeepSeek, Groq, xAI, NVIDIA NIM, OpenRouter, etc. The tier routing (e.g., Fable, Opus, Sonnet, Haiku) is done via env vars (e.g., MODEL_SONNET=deepseek/deepseek-chat). When a provider is down, it will fallback to the next provider in line without repeating the previous responses. It also comes with a web ui (/admin), a token count api, model discovery, auth, & provider health checks. Built with python 3.10+, run at http://127.0.0.1:8082.
Why a vibe-coder should care
If you’re currently using multiple AI providers or want to migrate to a cheaper one, you’ll need to manually set up each tool. This gateway makes it easier by allowing you to set up a single configuration file, so that when you want to switch providers, you only need to update the config file and your code agents will continue to function seamlessly. Your API keys will be kept locally and will not be shared across providers.
How to install
Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:
Deploy my-free-code from https://github.com/hkqr/my-free-code — follow the README, configure at least one provider (e.g. DeepSeek), start on 127.0.0.1:8082, and show me the available model list; ask me if you need API keys.
Runs on a regular laptop — you'll need Python 3.10+.
