ByteDance Dramagic: Write a script, get a video back

ByteDance launches Dramagic, an end-to-end AI-powered short video drama production platform. In Q1 2026, China has 128,000 short video dramas, of which 95% are generated by AI. It costs $90–120 to generate a minute of video, which is approximately 1/10 of the cost of conventional videos. Professor Shen Yang from Tsinghua University

Dramagic is sold by BytePlus to enterprise users. You can get a price quote. It’s impossible to use it by yourself. This industry has 690,000 employees and has reached industrialization. Any LLM agent can simulate the process from writing scripts to creating characters to drawing storyboards, without the output of the rendered video.
