Microsoft’s AI division generates ~$37 billion annually. However, their primary AI infrastructure provider has become their Achilles heel. Microsoft is quietly replacing OpenAI models within their Office applications with their own proprietary versions. Open models are more than just an ideology — they’re a risk mitigation strategy for a $24 billion exposure.
