Meta has released Muse Glimmer — 30B parameters, 20 GB footprint, Apache 2.0 license. It's the company's first open-weight release in over a year, as the new Superintelligence Labs resumes shipping open models after the Llama 4 pause.
Meta has released Muse Glimmer — the first open-weight model (download and run locally) from the new Superintelligence Labs. 30 billion parameters, fits in 20 GB — within range of a standard laptop. More than a year has passed since Meta's last open-weight release.
Zuckerberg published an essay titled "The Future Is for Everyone": he called copying and improving other models a normal practice and said an AI monopoly would be dangerous. Meta will invest $600 billion in data centers by 2028 and is betting on openness as the way to outcompete China — the direct opposite of OpenAI's strategy.
