Amazon Blocks Meta's Muse Agent for Unauthorized Shopping Access

Amazon has blocked Meta's Muse AI agent on its website. Users began seeing a message that read: "continued access by an unauthorized agent violates Amazon's Terms of Service." Amazon had asked Meta to voluntarily remove its platform from the agent's features, but received no reply.

Amazon stated its position directly: an agent must identify itself openly and respect the platform's decisions. The platform cannot tell an agent apart from a scraper if it does not identify itself. I would only build shopping-enabled agents where the platform has explicitly allowed it.
